0.0116 is the conversion factor for converting the amount of radiation (cal/cm2) into the peak hours of sunshine:

Peak sunshine definition: 100mW/cm2=0.1W/cm2

1cal=4.1868J=101868Ws 1h=3600s

Then: 1cal/cm2=4.1868Ws/cal (3600s/h×0.1W/cm2)=0.0116hcm2/cal
